Thank You

Thank you to the hundreds of families, residents, voters, businesses owners and community leaders for your outpouring of support! Your support and immediately contacting the City Council was amazing and thanks to your help we defeated this terrible RFP idea last night. Thank you to Mayor Sharon Quirk-Silva, Councilmember Doug Chafee and Councilmember Greg Sebourn for their support and leadership on defeating this rushed and terrible idea. The overwhelming amount of community support generated in less than a week has spoken.

Please continue to stay involved on this website and our Facebook page for future updates. Thank you again!  Together we can continue to move Fullerton forward in a positive direction for a brighter future for all!

Keeping Your Fullerton PD Local

Millionaire developer and political kingmaker Tony Bushala is attempting to buy a new police force to complete his domination of Fullerton. First, he bankrolled the recall election and now he is telling some on the City Council and his supporters to replace our police department under the guise of saving dollars when that was already done just last year. So, the new buzz phrase is “let’s get a Request for Proposal” for Police Services. Read on to learn why that's a bad idea:

Last year, the Fullerton Police Officers Association along with City Employees and the Firefighters Associations agreed to cost savings, pension reform and more cuts, which totaled $1,065,000 per year in real dollars for Fullerton taxpayers and the City! No one can properly offer more complete and better service than your own local police department - accountable only to you and with a new Chief of Police very soon.

Don’t let Tony Bushala make decisions for our City Council. Don't let Bushala have his own police force and code enforcement, so he can push through his future pet projects and business deals. Don't let the Council approve his terrible idea.

Don't let a tragic incident mar the good work that 99% of City Employees do for you - the taxpayers, families and businesses in Fullerton. In business, you change management when the company does not perform. In our community, we have changed management and recalled three city council members. And, we are going to hire a new Chief of Police. Enough is enough!

It's time to stand up and speak out! Fullerton’s families, businesses and taxpayers, say NO to Tony Bushala and those on the Fullerton City Council who are being told to consider outsourcing through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.  Say YES to local control. Let's keep our Fullerton Police!

Call, write or -mail City Council and attend the August 7 Council Meeting. We’ll notify you of other future meetings to speak out at as well. It's time for Fullerton residents, voters, taxpayers and business to speak out. Don't let others do this for you! Our Fullerton families deserve better than a large agency, a contract police department and Tony B's private police force. No one provides better overall local services, response times and knows our community than the Fullerton Police Department.
